OUR EXPERIENCES
ODE's mission is to break every preconceived idea that we had about the orchestra, bringing a genre-bending ensemble to unexpected venues around Auckland.
We are like-minded rebels aiming to challenge the status quo with relevant, transformative, daring and philanthropic musical experiences - connecting new and diverse audiences to the power of music and supporting communities and people on the journey.
In doing so, we’re redefining an orchestra’s role in 21st century society and paying tribute to something profoundly worthy - this unique slice of paradise we call Aotearoa.
Musician, audience or collaborator — are you ready to make some noise with us?

Make some noise with us
Whether you’re a serious hobbyist, aspiring student, ex-instrumentalist or full-blown pro, ODE has a place for you. We’re passionate about being an orchestra that is inclusive and embraces the diversity that makes Aotearoa the charming place it is.
Besides having a strong musical background, the only fundamental requirements of becoming an ODEist is to have a daring attitude and passion for dramatic music-making.
To audition for ODE:
Fill out this simple form and tell us a bit about yourself and your musical journey
Submit a 4+ min recording of you doing your thang (playing your musical instrument!). The recording should be recorded in the last 12-18 months.
If you’re accepted, an ODEist will be in touch with next steps in terms of rostering, rehearsals and more details!
